Mark Ciocca: Ph.D., ABPP
Mark Ciocca is a licensed psychologist with over twenty-five years of experience in counseling individuals, couples, and families. He specializes in working with couples on relationship, intimacy, and sexual issues, stressing positive communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
Dr. Ciocca also helps adults, adolescents, and seniors work to resolve symptoms of anxiety, depression, and health-related issues such as chronic pain and illness. He has extensive experience in helping people overcome fears and phobias, and in reducing the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder. His therapeutic approach integrates methods from cognitive-behavioral, behavioral, and solution-focused therapies. He also utilizes clinical hypnosis and mindfulness approaches, and is known for his friendly, sometimes humorous, matter-of-fact style.
In addition to his therapeutic work, Dr. Ciocca conducts psychological evaluations for both individuals and the courts, including evaluations for bariatric surgery, psychiatric disability, psychological injury, and anger control issues. He also provides training and consultation in the areas of stress management, suicide prevention, and relationship skills. He is the author of Lovecraft: Finding, Building, and Maintaining a Healthy Relationship, and he writes a monthly column for the Concord Monitor entitled "State of Mind."
Dr. Ciocca earned both M. A. and Ph.D. degrees in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and he graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Hampshire with a B. A. in Psychology.
Dr. Ciocca's appointment hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
